Includes (3) Saturdays: January 7th, 14th, & 21st (9 am to 12 noon). Course is designed as an introduction to painting with acrylics, but students will learn and understand advanced techniques. Course is also designed to be less about theory and more hands-on with practical applications…to be fun.

2007 to present: after years of not painting, resumed painting in 2007.

1988 to present: videography and digital SLR film format, video editing: currently shoot with a Sony HDR XR550 digital camcorder and Canon EOS 5D Mark II.

1978 to 1982: studied glass blowing and mixed media (including creating artwork with cut glass and neon glass tubing and bending) at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.

1974 to 1976: studied B&W photography and darkroom film developing/finishing techniques under Douglas Sause. Mostly used a Pentax ME Super SLR as well as Sause's Hasselblad medium format film cameras, lenses, and other photo equipment.

1972 to 1974: studied life drawing and painting with oils under John Brownfield at University of Redlands. Brownfield received his bachelor of fine arts degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and his master of fine arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He taught at the University of Redlands from 1965 to 2003. Brownfield also serves on the Redlands Art Association board of directors. He has an extensive exhibition record and is well known in the regional arts community for his art and his wit.

1971 to 1974: studied composition, drawing, painting and batik under Bernard Lowrey at Redlands High School. Lowrey received his bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Mexico and his master of fine arts from the University of Hawaii. Lowrey was well known for his batiks.
